Numerical simulation on failure process of pre-cracked Brazilian disk specimen of rock
Rock failure process analysis (RFPA) code is used to study the failure process of rock disks with pre-existing cracks when subjected to static loading. The numerical simulation reproduces the failure characteristics of rock disks with different inclinations of pre-existing crack
and compare well with the experimental results. By contrast
the numerical simulation can also capture the stress distribution and failure mechanism during the failure process
