Numerical simulation of failure and induced acoustic emission characteristics of coal/rock under pore pressure
Using pore pressure incorporated rock failure process analysis (RFPA2D) code
the deformation and strength properties of coal/rock under pore pressure is numerically studied. The numerically simulated results indicate that the Young’s modulus and compressive strength of coal/rock gradually increase with the increase of the confining pressure for a given pore pressure; and for a given confining pressure
the Young’s modulus and compressive strength of coal/rock gradually decrease with the increase of the pore pressure. In addition
the characteristics of acoustic emission during the failure process of coal/rock are also numerically investigated under various confining pressures and pore pressures.
