Abstract
The mechanism of hydrogen damage on water-wall tubes in thermal power plants
as well as the selection of components used in ultrasonic detecting system for hydrogen damage on water-wall tubes have been presented. The frequency and sensitivity of probe used in back scattering method are comparatively higher
the severity of hydrogen damage can be determined
and the thickness of hydrogen damage can be measured. The ultrasonic frequency is commonly selected as 10~15 MHz
and the probe wafer being selected as d6~10 mm
the frequency range of detector being selected as 20 MHz.Through practical examples in the field
it has been verified that the ultrasonic detecting method used for hydrogen damage on the water-wall is accurate and reliable
having high detecting sensitivity and resolving capability
