PYROLYSIS AND COMBUSTION CHARACTERISTICS OF DIFFERENT RANK COALS IN O2/CO2(N2) ENVIRONMENTS
Thermogravimetric-Mass spectrometry(TG-MS) was used to study the pyrolysis and combustion characteristics of three rank coals in different environments(O2/CO2(N2)).Results show that
compared to pyrolysis in N2 environment
coal pyrolysis in CO2 environment can be divided into three stages:water evaporation
volatile matters release and char gasification by CO2 in higher temperature zone. With the increasing oxygen concentration
the combustion TG-DTG curves move to the lower temperature zone
and the ignition temperature and burnout temperature decrease
which means the comprehensive combustion property index increases.Under the same combustion environment and oxygen content
the ignition temperature and burnout temperature of PRB sub-bituminous coal are obviously lower than that of the Illinois and Utah bituminous coal.
