The experimental results of operation optimization on steam turbines is usually the optimum constant/sliding operating curve with the exhaust pressure revised to the designed value

without considering of the actual varying exhaust pressures.So it is not the optimal economic value for the actual operation.Thus

taking a wet cooling steam turbine as an example

the influence of exhaust pressure variation on the operation optimization results was investigated.The results showed that

different exhaust pressures corresponded to different optimized results.With an increase in exhaust pressure

the optimum main steam pressure went up

while the constant/sliding pressure critical load decreased.Moreover

the optimization adjustment method was put forward to improve the annual operation economy of the unit.
