Coal combustion for power generation is one of the main sources of PM2.5in the atmosphere.PM2.5reduction during coal combustion contributes significantly to improving atmospheric environmental quality in the city.PM2.5generated from coal combustion mainly consists of two types of particulate matter
namely the ultrafine mode particles and central mode particles
which are formed in different mechanisms.Control in furnace is an effective strategy for PM2.5reduction during coal combustion
including optimization of coal properties and combustion conditions
additive injection like kaolin and limestone
coal blending and co-combustion with biomass and sewage sludge. In addition
slagging and fouling should be considered because of changes in mineral transformation. It is economical to achieve multi-pollutant removal during PM2.5reduction.
