The cold test of gas-particle two-phase flow characteristics in a particle curtain heat exchanger was investigated on the experimental platform using the methods of experimental measurement and theoretical analysis. The experimental results show that
a low voidage curtain led to diverging curtain
while increasing the particle voidage caused the curtain to become increasingly convergent. The gas velocity at downstream of the particle curtain increased with the gas velocity and thickness of the particle curtain
while decreased with the increasing mass flow and the particle diameter. The effect of gas velocity and mass flow of the particle on the downstream gas velocity was greater than that of the particle curtain thickness and particle diameter. The downstream gas velocity increased with the curtain drop height.
