Observation and Characteristic Analysis of Ground Potential Rise in the Common Ground Network
The equipment damages and life safety caused by counterattack of ground potential rise(GPR) are worthy of attention. Based on the experiment of artificial triggered lightning
the test model of common ground network is laid out. During experiments
the lightning current is injected into the model from the drainage rod and the GPR is measured. For comparison
different characteristics of GPR caused by return stroke and M-component are analyzed. It is summarized that the average time of 10%
9
0% rising edge of the trigged lightning(T201514)’s 7 return strokes and 16 M-components is 0.4 μs and 279.7 μs
respectively
and the average time of the half peak width is 14.8 μs and 434.7 μs
respectively. The average time of 10%
9
0% rising edge and the half peak width of GPR waves compared with the return strokes are larger
and the parameters of return strokes the proportion coefficients are 14.0 and 2.7
respectively. However
for M-components
the parameters between voltage and currents are similar and the corresponding proportion coefficients of them are 0.8 and 1.1
respectively. The peak value of the triggered lightning’s 7 return strokes and 16 M-components are –19.1 k A and –1.3k A
respectively
and they fit well with the voltages. The equivalent impulse earthed resistance can be got by dividing the peak voltage by peak current
the equivalent resistances of return strokes are obviously smaller than those of M-components.
