Insulation pull rod is a key insulation component of circuit breakers
should meet the requirements of strong electrical and mechanical properties. Insulation pull rods for UHV GIS circuit breakers is difficult to manufacture
and still need to be imported. The insulating pull rods used in UHV GIS circuit breakers are all made of fiber reinforced epoxy resin
which are divided into two technical routes
hollow tube reinforced by spinning wheel fibers and solid plate reinforced by fiberglass fibers. The manufacturing technology
performance testing status
and field application of insulated pull rods for UHV GIS circuit breakers are introduced. The advantages and disadvantages of the two kinds of insulation rods are analyzed. Although the aramid reinforced hollow tubular insulating tie rod has the advantages of light weight and high tensile strength
it has high statistical probability of failure. At present
there are no uniform standards and restriction for the quality inspection of insulation pull rods used in UHV GIS. In order to ensure the quality stability and reliability of the rods
it is urgent to develop relevant research technical specifications.
