In order to investigate the influences of the rising edge
decaying edge and pulse width of nanosecond pulse voltage
and the covered electrode width on the surface dielectric barrier discharge characteristics
adopting the discharge images
voltage-current waveforms
and high speed schlieren
we comprehensively analyzed the effects of each electrical parameter on the discharge morphology
energy consumption and flow field characteristics of the nanosecond pulse surface dielectric barrier discharge. Experimental results reveal that the uniformity of the discharge filament is affected by rising and decaying edge of pulsed voltage. The length of discharge filament is affected by the pulse width
while is also restricted by the width of the buried electrode. The nanosecond pulsed actuation can generate series of shock waves
can also induce the weak jet stream with small velocity
and the direction of the jet is affected by the electrical parameters. Therefore
nanosecond pulsed actuation can not only can play a role in a fast heating
