Research on High-frequency Interruption Capacity of LTVS with Different Electrodes
To develop a pulsed power switch with better comprehensive performances and meet the demands of pulsed power system for the repeated-frequency working performances of the switches
a test circuit is established based on detachable vacuum chamber. The influences of different electrode structures
electrode spacing
current frequencies
and polarity configuration modes on the high-frequency interruption capacity of laser triggered vacuum switch(LTVS) are studied. The test results prove that the high-frequency interruption capacity of LTVS from TMF electrodes is obviously better than that from AMF electrodes
and gradually decreases with the rise of electrode spacing
especially the TMF electrodes. Affected by the trigger material
when the LTVS with KCl+Ti is of positive polarity
the increase of current frequency seriously reduces the high-frequency interruption capacity of LTVS
while the change of frequency has no significant influence on it under the negative polarity. Under different polarity configurations
the charged particles released by the active trigger materials at current-zero will affect the high-frequency interruption capacity of LTVS to various degrees. The experimental results in this paper will provide references for further optimizing the comprehensive performances of LTVS.
