Wind power curve is an important performance index of wind turbines. Accurate and efficient modeling of a wind power curve is of great significance to the operation and management of wind farms. Based on the analysis of typical requirements of power curve models
a modeling method for the wind power curve based on smoothing spline is proposed in this paper
and the cases validation is carried out. In the proposed method
cubic splines are adopted to fit the wind speed-power data
and the coefficients of the fitting function are regularized by roughness penalty. The optimal smoothing parameters are derived through cross validation to realize precise modeling of the wind power curve. The case study results show that the proposed modeling method for the wind power curve based on smoothing spline is effective with high accuracy
smoothness
and good universality. The research results can provide references for modeling of the wind power curve of wind turbines.
