Improved Master-slave Control for Islanded AC Microgrid with PV and Energy Storage Systems
In an islanded AC microgrid with photovoltaic(PV) and energy storage systems
the key to maintain the long-term stability of the microgrid is to reasonably control the power and to realize the coordinated operation between multi energy storages and multi PVs. Thereby
we put forward an improved master-slave coordination strategy. First
an improved peer-to-peer control method based on state-of-charge(SOC) for storages is designed
so that multi storages can take part in AC bus voltage regulation and frequency modulation together
meanwhile
their output power will be reasonably distributed
and the SOC of each storage is equal. Second
an adaptive power control method based on AC bus signals for PVs is designed
so that the active and reactive power output of multi PVs can be adjusted adaptively according to the AC bus frequency and amplitude
and this method can prevent over charging of the storages and reduce the burden of reactive power output at storage sides. Above two control methods are combined to realize the coordinated operation between multi storages and multi PVs
and the coordination process presents a master-slave relationship. By analyzing this process
the system loads can be designed and the related management mechanism is introduced. When the small-signal stability analysis is carried out
the influence of control parameters change on the system can be discussed. Finally
the effectiveness of the control strategy is verified in the hardware-in-loop experiment based on Rt-lab.
