DC voltage stability is the precondition for the stability of a VSC-MTDC system. Compared with the eigenvalue method
the DC stability of the VSC-MTDC system using impedance stability criterion has the advantages of simple modeling process and clear physical meaning. Consequently
a small signal impedance model of VSC-MTDC system based on general droop control is established in this paper. The influences of transmission power
droop coefficient
line length and DC side capacitance on the stability of VSC-MTDC system are analyzed by using the Nyquist stability criterion. According to the stability analysis
the corresponding simulation experiments are designed and performed to verify the validity of the impedance stability criterion.
