Abstract
Stress concentration caused by cure-induced distortion of epoxy composite is one of the main reasons for interface defects in gas insulated metal enclosed transmission line(GIL) insulators. In order to study the cure-induced distortion of epoxy composite used in GIL insulators in process flow
the non-isothermal differential scanning caborimetry(DSC) method was used to measure the curing heat flow characteristics
and the curing kinetic equation was obtained by calculation. The cure-induced distortion and the key parameters for simulation were studied by FBG. Meanwhile
a multi-physical coupling model of curing kinetics-thermal-chemistry
and deformation was established to simulate the distribution of cure-induced distortion of epoxy composites. The results show that the heat flow curves of epoxy composite used in GIL insulators can be divided into two parts: pre-curing peak and post-curing peak
and the reaction conforms to the autocatalytic model
respectively. The thermal shrinkage of epoxy composite in curing reaction is 4 215×10
-6
while the chemical shrinkage is 2 973×10
-6
. The gel point is 0.546. On this basis
the equivalent boundary load is taken as 1 MPa after demolding
and the results show that the cure-induced distortion obtained by simulation fits well with the experimental value. The parameter and methods obtained in this paper can be adopted to effectively simulate the cure-induced distortion of epoxy composite
which can provide a reference and basis for product design and process optimization of insulators.
