Abstract:
Bellows is widely used in the field of wire and cable manufacturing, but it is easy to have axial displacement after compression, which will affect the electrical performance of the cable. Generally, the axial displacement is controlled by increasing steel wire braiding, but the production cost will be increased. The 3D model of bellows with different structure and thickness will be established by CAD/CAE software, and carry out finite element analysis. At the same time, according to relevant industry standards, a section of the cable sample is prepared and the verification test is designed. Through the comparison and analysis of the finite element simulation and test data, the quantitative relationship among the different structure, thickness and elongation of the bellows is found, which provides a reference for the design of bellows in the future.
