Abstract:
Plenty of HVDC projects have already been put into operation in Brazil, which embody Brazilian local characteristics on aspect of design, construction, and operation of HVDC projects. Firstly, structure of Brazilian HVDC projects asset management are complex, which results in a large amount of coordination work during design, construction and operation. Secondly, the electrical performances of the power grid are complex, including the large fluctuation of power flow, the different electrical coupling levels between the AC and DC power grids, the DC multi-infeed power grid at the receiving end grid, etc. Thirdly, the synergistic effect between the double HVDC bipoles are significant, including the converter stations located on the same site, the united control of both reactive power and active power, sharing of both the HVDC lines and electrodes, standby function of the optical fiber communication channels for each other. Thanks for superiority of both collectivization management and large-scale power grid's safety and stability, Chinese invested enterprises have been strongly supporting their Brazilian HVDC concessionaires, copping with the challenges accompanying with the differences in management structure, operation modes and standards of the HVDC implementation between in China and in Brazil, which Chinese invested enterprises have been dealing with them on the different aspects including setting up system of both the fast equipment supply and the good service response of the HVDC project, optimizing and updating project parameters, integrating the different specifications of project management, etc.
