Abstract: With the completion of the comprehensive construction of Beidou satellite navigation system, State Grid Corporation of China has vigorously promoted the integrated application of Beidou service in power business, and constructed Beidou precise space-time service network so as to provide high-precision positioning, navigation and timing services. This paper makes a comprehensive summary and analysis on the functions and service capabilities of BeiDou satellite navigation system, introduces the construction of BeiDou precise space-time service network, and analyzes and elaborates on the typical applications of BeiDou positioning and navigation service, timing service and short message communication service in the power industry. In the end, the author prospects and summarizes the applications of BeiDou 5G in power industry and BeiDou-3 regional short message service as well.
