Abstract:
Electrochemical energy storage plays an important role in the power system. Recently, researches on large-scale electrochemical energy storage on power grid side participating in dispatching operation and control of power system have emerged one after another. The operation efficiency and lifespan decay characteristics of electrochemical energy storage are nonlinearly affected by the charging and discharging rate, depth of discharging and operation temperature. These effects are not comprehensively considered in the existing researches. This paper introduces the principles and characteristics of three electrochemical energy storage systems including lithium-ion batteries, supercapacitors and all-vanadium flow batteries, respectively, which focus on the classification and analysis of the modeling methods for operation efficiency and lifespan decay of these three electrochemical energy storage systems. Finally, this study proposes the key issues and potential research topics of operation efficiency and lifespan decay modeling methods for the large-scale electrochemical energy storage systems on power grid side.
