Abstract: CIRED 2015 was organized according to the traditional 6groups,in which the power distribution system planning group published 146 papers,including lectures and poster tours.In addition,the group also held 2round tables,namely,"component efficiency and system efficiency "and"coordinated planning and operation",and organized 2technical seminars,namely,"probabilistic methods in modern distribution system "and"power systems and information and communication technology co-simulation".The research field of CIRED 2015 S5（power distribution system planning）was divided into4parts:risk assessment and asset management,distribution network development,distribution network planning,analysis methods and tools.Hot issues of concern were:smart grid,active distribution network,electric vehicles,energy storage,active demand and distributed energy resources integration,customer power quality,asset utilization optimization,etc.
