Abstract:
When a fault occurs in an AC power grid containing doubly-fed induction generators (DFIGs),the accuracy of DFIG output characteristics will affect the calculation results of the entire faulty network.First, based on the different voltage drops of DFIG,the calculating formulas for the stator-side output current under crowbar protection operation,rotor-side converter (RSC)excitation control and outer loop control are derived in detail. Then, considering the feed-out currents of the grid-side converter(GSC),the output current expressions of DFIG with different control strategies of GSC and RSC are derived. Thus, the refined fault calculation model of DFIG considering different voltage drops and GSC feed-out currents is proposed. Finally,to verify the accuracy of the refined model,an infinite bus system and a typical power grid with DFIGs are simulated on the MATLAB/Simulink platform. The simulation results show that the error between the theoretical calculated and simulated values of the refined model is small.Compared with the existing models, the proposed model has higher accuracy when applied to power grid fault calculation.
