Abstract:
A new location method for stator single-phase ground fault of a generator is proposed,in which neutral-point of the generator is grounded via the distribution transformer secondary winding with a high resistor. It can be used as qualitative guidance for earth fault searching. The ground fault phase can be easily judged with the characteristic of generator three-phase terminal voltage after stator single-phase ground fault.Expressing generator three-phase terminal voltage with fault phase electric motive force, and through comparing three-phase voltage square difference, stator ground fault transient resistance and ground fault location can be calculated. The proposed method is simple and independent of voltage injection type stator ground fault protection, therefore,it is simple and easy to popularize.Actual recording data on site show that the method is correct.
