Abstract: Land and sea resources are extremely precious, making full use of the existing site resources and constantly improving the overall plot plan is of great significance to promote the rational construction of power plants. This paper reviews the practical problems encountered in the construction and implementation of a coastal coal-fired power plant in Guangdong, providing a useful summary for the design and improvement of the overall plot plan of the power plant.A long-term planning of the project is carried out according to the overall planning capacity, and the general layout of the plant is continuously optimized in each phase, the overall plan is adjusted and improved in a timely manner,so as to finally achieve the initial capacity target. By optimizing the general layout in each phase of the project, the established planning objectives were achieved and a number of benchmark achievements were set. Adhering to the red line of land use and planning leadership, and making full use of the conditions of the plant site for construction is the most reasonable choice for the development of the power plant, and it is the greatest respect for the land and marine resources.
