Abstract: This paper introduces a primary fuse melting phenomenon of potential transformer in generator outlet and the treatment process, analyzes the cause of slow melting, the protection and alarming behavior of the excitation device, and proposes disposal principles and five preventive control measures such as improving monitoring means, selection of appropriately structured fuses, strengthening fuse monitoring, perfecting excitation system logic and clarifying protection principles.
