Abstract:
This paper introduces an incident that a unit of a pumped storage power station suffers from reactive power rush at the moment of synchronization. It analyzes the fault from three aspects such as synchronization conditions including frequency difference, voltage difference and phase difference, lead time and pulse width that synchronization device exerts on excitation regulator device. The study concludes that the reactive power impact is caused by the excessive wide range of differential voltage, and the solution is put forward.
