Abstract:
The integration of electric vehicle(EV) batteries into the micro-grid can provide additional energy storage for the micro-grid,the benefits of which depend on factors such as market electricity prices,EV charging status, and in-station/out-station rates. It is assumed that the micro-grid consists of thermal units, renewable energy and a parking lot containing energy storage facilities. This paper proposed an optimization model of energy management considering mobile energy storage characteristics of electric vehicles. The objective function of the model is to minimize the expected total operating costs, including the energy purchase and sales costs in the early stage of the market, the start-up/down costs and power generation costs of the thermal unit, the battery wear and tear costs, and the cost of power exchange with the local power distributor in each scenario. In this paper,Benders decomposition algorithm was utilized to solve the model, and the modified 14-node system was used for simulation verification. The simulation results show that the energy storage characteristics of EV batteries can effectively reduce the total operation cost of the micro-grid.
