Analysis of Interrelation Among Carbon Emissions,Economic Development and Electricity Consumption in China and the United States

  • 摘要: 美国和中国作为全球第一和第二大经济体,也是二氧化碳排放量最高的两个国家,两国在全球应对气候变化的进程中发挥重要作用。采用1990—2019年相关数据,通过散点图分析中美碳排放与经济发展相互关系,表明中美两国CO2排放量与人均国民收入的关系均基本符合环境库兹涅茨曲线;通过Eviews软件对中美碳排放与电力能源消费占比的Granger因果关系检验分析,表明电力能源消费占比是碳排放量的单向Granger原因。

     

    Abstract: As the world’s largest and second largest economies and the two countries with the highest carbon emissions,the United States and China will play an important role in the global response to the climate change. Based on the relevant data from 1990 to 2019,it analyzes the relationship between carbon emissions and economic development in China and the United States by scatter diagrams. It proves that the relationship between CO2 emissions and gross national income( GNI) in China and the United States basically conforms to the Kuznets curve. Through the granger Causality Test between carbon emissions and the proportion of electric energy consumption in China and the US by Eviews,it is proved that the proportion of electric energy consumption is the one-way granger cause of carbon emissions.
