Research and Application of Server Actual Operation Power Test Method

  • 摘要: 伴随着国家数字新基建建设的快速发展,数据中心规模的快速增长带来的能耗问题得到了全社会的广泛关注。在服务器计算能力不断增强、集成密度不断增大的同时,面临着实际运行功率缺乏精确测量和预测的问题,从而造成了数据中心在规划、设计和运行过程中浪费机柜和能源资源。文章通过研究分析服务器主要功耗元件组成和服务器在不同业务负载下对CPU、内存、存储元件功率消耗的关系,提出模拟不同负载业务的方法,基于该模拟方法构建了服务器测试平台。结果显示该测试方法能较好地模拟服务器不同负载特性,对准确测试服务器负载具有重要意义,对数据中心节能规划运维具有指导性意义。

     

    Abstract: With the rapid development of national digital infrastructure construction, the energy consumption problem caused by the rapid growth of data center scale has been widely concerned by the whole society. As the computing power of the server continues to increase and the integration density continues to increase, it is faced with the problem of lack of accurate measurement and prediction of actual operation power, which results in a great waste of cabinet and energy resources in the process of planning, design and operation of data center. This paper studies and analyzes the relationship between the composition of the main power components of the server and the power consumption of the CPU, memory, and storage components under different service loads, and proposes a method to simulate di?erent load services, and builds a server test platform based on the simulation method. The results show that the test method can well simulate the di?erent load characteristics of the server, which is of great signifcance to accurately test the server load, and has guiding signifcance for the energy-saving planning and operation and maintenance of the data center.
