Abstract:
As a third-generation nuclear power plant with independent intellectual property rights in China, the FOAK HPR1000 has adopted a single reactor layout and made a lot of innovations in the configuration and general layout of nuclear island. This paper first puts forward the principles and requirements of nuclear island layout design, and then combined with the characteristics of HPR1000, the process and results of the nuclear island layout design of the FOAK HPR1000 are discussed in details. The nuclear island layout design mainly includes the configuration and overall layout of main buildings, the layout of main systems, the layout of special safety systems and serious accident response measures and the layout of the main auxiliary system. Through this design, the FOAK HPR1000 has achieved the purpose of innovation, safety, convenience and economy, accumulated valuable experience and laid a technical foundation for the R&D of subsequent models of HPR1000 and other nuclear power plants in China, and has good social and economic benefits.
