Abstract:
The traditional PWR power coefficient measurement is performed on the specific high-power level; while the VVER reactor is measured under the zero-power level. There are large errors in the data processing of the reactivity measurement on the high-power level, and the power measurement at zero-power level also has a large uncertainty due to the method. Therefore, there exist notable errors and uncertainties in the measurement values of power coefficients by the above two traditional methods. Based on the VVER method, Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant has improved the method: First, calculating the accurate nuclear power with the current of the intermediate-range detectors and the current-power conversion coefficient; then determining the power coefficient with the signal variation of the measured reactivity. The newly-proposed method has been applied in Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant for different units and multiple fuel cycles. The application results indicate that the newly-proposed method is robust, which can provide the reliable measurement values for different units and fuel cycles.
