Abstract:
Purification of steam generator blowdown by electrodeionization(EDI) has several advantages. The current steam generator blowdown EDI operation experience is based on using NH
3 as pH control agent. The influence of using ETA and it’s decomposition products on the performance of EDI is studied in this paper. The results show that adding ETA in EDI inlet water would not cause significant changes in operating pressure difference of EDI. But the resistivity of EDI product water significant decreases and the EDI operation resistance increases, which would increase the energy consumption. The removal ratios of Na
+, Cl
-, SO
42- are slightly decreased, but still meets the requirements of NPP operation.
