Abstract:
The corrosion performance of structural materials is directly affected by the control of oxygen content in the lead-bismuth eutectic alloy(LBE). Gas-phase oxygen control may generate gaseous radioactive waste, and solid PbO raw materials for solid-phase oxygen control might be hard to replenish online. Therefore, an electrochemical oxygen pump(EOP)oxygen control method has been developed internationally. In this paper, the Pt/air EOP was fabricated using Pt with mature technology and high reduction catalytic activity, and the oxygen control and measurement of EOP was studied by the current-time method in the static lead-bismuth experimental device. The results show that the oxygen content of LBE can be effectively control by Pt/air EOP, and the deoxidation efficiency of the oxygen pump might be limited by the mass transfer of oxygen in the LBE.
