Abstract:
Radiation sterilization is an important application of nuclear technology and it has made great contributions to human health. Extending the application in more fields can promote the development of nuclear technology and bring more convenience to people’s lives. We selected three common sports equipment for radiation sterilization study. The sterilization dose was established using bioburden information, and then the radiation process was verified on an electron beam accelerator. The results show that the absorbed dose of 16.7~20.3 kGy can achieve the result of disinfection. Using double-sided irradiation method could make the dose uniformity ratio between 1.35 and 1.41. In the context of regular epidemic prevention and control, it is a good choice to apply the radiation sterilization to sports equipment.
