Abstract:
Dropout fuses are widely used in distribution network of 10 kilovolts for its outstanding characteristics of simple structure and convenient maintenance. However problems occur after a period of usage, such as erosion of contacts of the fuse-carrier, fuse-carrier dropout failure, fuse-holder porcelain insulator fracture. 190 dropout fuses from 6 different manufacturers were tested. And the results showed that the unqualified components had been the major cause of the faults listed above. In order to improve the quality of dropout fuses, a scheme of lifecycle management was promoted of which adaptive and personalized testing was the key means. And the scheme included three links covering the lifecycle of dropout fuses prior to supply through post installation.
