Abstract:
For the maximum utilization of solar energy, photovoltaic (PV) 2 are operated at the maximum power point under changing environmental conditions, and maximum power point tracking (MPPT) is generally achieved using traditional method. However, the occurrence of multiple peaks due to partial shading adds complexity to the tracking prosses and conventional method can’t guarantee convergence to global peak always. In this paper, a novel flower pollination (FP) algorithm with the ability to reach global peak is proposed. The paper outlines the concept of FP algorithm by highlighting the significance of the Levy flight in influencing the proposed algorithm’s convergence. This paper is mainly divided into the following four major section. Section 1 interprets the PV module modeling. Section 2 depicts the control structure of proposed method with detailed steps on FP-MPPT performance. A comprehensive assessment is provided between proposed and two well established methods based on factors governing the implementation of MPPT in Section 3 and Section 4 is devoted to conclusions.
