Abstract: In this paper, lightning strike simulation research of power distribution transformer has been carried out. Equivalent wide bandwidth distribution transformer model which is suitablefor lightning strike is established. Based on this model, the simulation of power distribution transformer transient under lightning strike is completed. The voltage waveform under lightning and the internal overvoltage of power distribution transformer have been analyzed to find the weak location of insulation structure. The lightning protection measures are proposed according to the simulation results.
