Abstract: With the rapid development of the electric vehicle industry, the in-wheel motor for electric vehicles has become a social research hotspot due to its compact structure and high integration advantages. In this paper, the author briefly introduces the concept and characteristics of the wheel motor drive system. Based on the application and research status of the wheel motor at home and abroad, the paper summarizes the key technical problems of the wheel motor application and prospects its development trend. If the future realization of large-scale commercial use of wheel motors, wheel hub motor drive to overcome the bottleneck, I believe will have a broad market prospects.
