Abstract:
Abstract: With an increasing application of voltage source converter technologies in distribution systems, the dynamic performance is becoming of particular interesting for the designing and stability analysis. In this context, this paper presents discrete-time modeling and stability analysis method for VSC-based AC/DC systems. The converters are defined in this paper through discrete-time modeling, and the dynamic characteristics and stability of the system can be discussed by analyzing the eigenvalues of the state space matrix, in z-plane. According to the case study and simulation results, the accuracy of the method and the theoretical analyses are validated. The modelling can be effectively applied to the design of the controller parameters and the prediction of the stability boundaries.
