An intelligent monitoring system based on Internet of Things for electric distribution network

  • Abstract: With the explosive growth of the electric distribution network, the safety of the power grid becomes more and more important. The traditional maintenance mode based on human capital leads to limited, making it difficult to adapt to the rapid development of the power grid. This paper presents the use of Internet of Things and automation control technology to establish a environment monitoring system for intelligent power distribution, such as water level alarm, noise monitoring, transformer overheating alarm, UPS power failure alarm, CCTV, infrared imaging, rail-type inspection robot. The monitoring system uploads data to a "cloud" server by optical fiber and wireless 4G public network. Centralized online monitoring and management of switching stations and power distribution stations can be achieved by the host computer or mobile clients.
