Abstract: In order to implement the national electricity system reform, Jiangsu Province is expediting the development of the electricity spot market. The spot market settlement trials of the Jiangsu Province electricity spot market were successfully completed on July 1-7, 2022, and September 23-29, 2022, indicating that the market-oriented operation of the electricity spot market in Jiangsu Province is on track to be realized. This article aims to explore strategies for thermal power units in response to the electricity spot market, through analyzing the situation of the electricity spot market in Jiangsu Province and the operational status of Jiangsu Nantong Power Generation Co., Ltd.
