Abstract: In this paper, the corrosion of overhead wire of a transmission line in a heavily polluted area is analyzed, including macroscopic observation, monofilament breaking force, winding test, torsion test, resistivity test,scanning electron microscope energy spectrum and X-ray diffraction of corrosion, etc. The causes andconclusions of the corrosion of transmission line wire are obtained, and the corrosion operation and maintenance and preventive measures are put forward. It can provide some guidance for the analysis and operation and maintenance management of transmission line wire corrosion in heavy pollution area.
